Community update

October 2026

Dates you can trust, calendars that talk to each other, and owners who confirm within 24 hours. Nothing for you to set up.

The short version: dates you see are dates that are really free, calendars now talk to each other, and some owners confirm your request within 24 hours. Nothing for you to set up, nothing to learn.

Over the past few weeks we've been fixing the small things that make hiring a boat feel easier. Here's what's changed.

You'll never see a date that isn't really free

Owners can now block out their own dates, whether that's a family trip or a winter lay-up. If a date shows as free, it genuinely is.

Calendars now talk to each other

Owners can link their Airbnb calendar, so a booking made there blocks those dates on BoatStays automatically. Fewer double bookings, fewer awkward conversations.

Some owners like to say hello first

On boats marked "Request to book", the owner confirms within 24 hours. Your card is checked when you send the request, but you're only charged if they accept. Waiting costs you nothing.

Maddox has found its rhythm

Cruises on Maddox are 3, 4 or 7 nights, always starting on a Monday. It's how the owners plan their moorings, and it makes pricing simpler.

Reviews, quietly moved

Reviews now sit at the bottom of every boat page, after the booking calendar, so the important details come first.

All the best,

The BoatStays Team
